The 2015 Unibet Open Cannes poker tournament series began today, and with it the promise of great events throughout. It will be hosted during the week of Sept. 14 through the 20, at the Casino Barrière Le Croisette. Unibet chose this location as it “offers both relaxation and unforgettable entertainment.” There are various different events that players can participate in, but there are two that stand out more than the others.
The two events that most people have their eyes on are the €2,200 High Roller event, and the €1,100 Freezeout Main Event. The main event will be comprised of 60-munute levels, and will be limited to 450 players, and I believe that number has already been met; for those that wanted to participate, better luck next year! However, it isn’t all about poker, as Unibet has made an effort to invite the players to enjoy what attractions the city has to offer.
Here is detailed information on the events and schedule:
In 2014, the winner of the main event was Daniel Smith, who was able to surpass the other 457 players and was able to walk away with the €88,000 first-prize cash, as well as the Unibet Open trophy. This year it promises that and much more, as the competition will be fierce. Before the Main Event, there will be satellites, which will end before the Main Event begins, as well as other great events including the invite-only eSports Battle Royal SnG and the €550 Deepstack.
From here, Unibet will move their prestigious poker tournament to the city of London, to be played from October 16-18, for those that missed their chance to play in the Main Event in Cannes.
