MONSTER STACK Poker

This year’s World Series of Poker has been a great venue for all of the amateurs and unknown players to make a name for themselves. The latest big winners come from Event #28: Monster Stack $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em, where Perry Shiao and Eric Place made a great final table. Shiao, an amateur with only two other low cash winnings, managed to win this huge event.

Shiao walked away with a total winnings of $1,286,942, as well as his gold bracelet. However, second place player Eric Place isn’t mad about not winning, but rather using this as motivation to continue playing. Place walked away with $796,834 in winnings, making it the biggest payout he has ever gotten.

Both of these players not only made off with an impressive amount of money, but also made a name for themselves. Matt Glantz, a poker pro, is saying that the WSOP is losing its luster, and that may be true, but it is certainly giving new players the chance to make it big.

Even though these events are not the Main Event, they still offer a great amount of competition and great hands. You will still have to wait until July 6 and 7 for the Main Events to start, so keep watching the rest of the tournament with anticipation.
